How are Capital Caring Services Paid For?

As a not-for-profit provider of services, Capital Caring has made a promise to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region, to care for all who seek our support to the best of our ability. Our services are generally covered by Medicare and Medicaid. Private insurance generally follows the lead of these governmental payers, with small contractual co-payments as outlined in your plan. If you have insufficient funds or no payer source, our Patient Care Fund may be able to provide financial assistance.Your Care Navigator can assist you with understanding payment options and how to go about applying for benefits, should that be necessary.

Who Pays for Pediatric Palliative and Hospice Care?

Benefits are paid by your child’s insurance on a per diem basis and include all visits and services. As a not-for-profit provider of services, Capital Caring Kids is committed to care for  all who need our services. In most cases, Medicaid or private insurers will cover the cost of care, with small contractual co- payments as outlined in your plan. If you have insufficient funds or no payer source, our Pediatric Patient Care Fund may be able to provide financial assistance based on your financial status.

When your child is referred to our program, our Financial Case Managers will verify your child’s hospice benefit and our team will assist you to make arrangements where necessary.
