The Meshorer lab is studying fundamental properties of ESCs and the process of reprogramming somatic cells to induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Prof. Meshorer is the winner of the Hestrin prize of the Israeli Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (2012), the recipient of the Sir Zelman Cowen Award (2013), the Vigevani Prize together with EpiSyStem member Giuseppe Testa (2015), recipient of the Gold Medal from The 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University (Czech Republic) and is frequently invited to write commentaries and reviews in leading journals, and present his work at international conferences. Prof. Meshorer has a vast supervision experience: he is a past member of EpiGeneSys(NoE), EuroSyStem (NoE) and Nucleosome4D (ITN), received an ERC Starting grant, ERC PoC, and is a current active member of CellViewer (FET-OPEN). In addition, Prof. Meshorer has trained over a dozen PhD and M.Sc. students – and many elementary and high school students through voluntary public appearances and outreach activities.
